Your records.
Your device.
What the Migraine Tracker app and this website do with your information.
Last updated:
This policy covers the Migraine Tracker app for iPhone and Apple Watch, including its widgets and Live Activity, and the migrainetrack.app website. Migraine Tracker is developed by Linas Nutautas, who is responsible for the personal information described here. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to info@linasdev.io.
In short
- There is no Migraine Tracker account. You do not register or sign in.
- Your migraine records are stored in the app on your device. The app does not sync them to iCloud or to any server, and we cannot see them.
- Apple Health data is used only with your permission, only for the app’s features, and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.
- The app uses three service providers: RevenueCat for subscriptions, TelemetryDeck for anonymous usage statistics and Sentry for crash and error reports. None of them receive the contents of your records or your Health data.
- There are no ads, no advertising trackers and no sale of personal information.
Your migraine records
The information you enter is stored in a database inside the app on your iPhone. This includes attack start and end times, pain intensity and location, symptoms, suspected triggers, medications with the names and doses you enter, medication times, notes, end reasons and MIDAS answers. Each attack can also store the weather and pressure reading and the Apple Health values described below.
The app’s widgets and Live Activity read this information on the same iPhone. The Apple Watch app exchanges attack information, such as pain level, symptoms, triggers and medication logs, directly with your paired iPhone using Apple’s Watch connection.
Migraine Tracker does not sync your records through iCloud and does not upload them to us or to any other server. We do not operate a server that stores your records. If you back up your iPhone with iCloud Backup or to a computer, that device backup can include app data, as it does for other apps; this is controlled by your device settings and handled by Apple.
Apple Health
Connecting Apple Health is optional. If you allow it, the app can read:
- on iPhone: sleep analysis, heart rate and menstrual flow (menstrual data is used only if you turn on cycle tracking);
- on Apple Watch: heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV) and sleep analysis.
The app uses this data to show sleep context, heart-rate insights and cycle information, and stores values such as hours slept the night before an attack, heart rate during an attack and HRV at its start with that attack record. These values can appear in reports and exports that you create.
If you allow it, the app can also write to Apple Health: when you finish recording an attack, it can save a Headache entry with the start time, end time and a severity (mild, moderate or severe) based on your pain level. Deleting an attack in Migraine Tracker does not remove a Headache entry already saved to Apple Health; you can remove it in the Health app.
Health data stays on your devices. It is not sent to us, to RevenueCat, TelemetryDeck or Sentry, or to this website’s analytics. It is not used for advertising, marketing or data mining, it is not sold, and it is not shared with any third party. The app does not store Health data in iCloud. You can change or withdraw Health permissions at any time in the Health app or in your device’s Privacy settings.
Location and weather
If you allow location access while using the app, Migraine Tracker asks your device for an approximate location (about one kilometre accuracy is requested) to get atmospheric pressure, weather conditions and pressure forecasts from Apple Weather (WeatherKit). Apple receives that location to provide the weather data, under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
The app does not send your location to us or to any other service, and it does not save your coordinates. It keeps recent pressure readings on your device for up to 48 hours to calculate pressure changes, and saves the pressure and weather condition with an attack record. Location is optional: without it, the app cannot show local weather and pressure. You can change this permission in your device’s Settings.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, reminders and pressure-drop alerts are scheduled locally on your device. We do not use push notification servers or marketing messages.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes all payments through your App Store account; we never receive your payment card details. The app uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access and determine whether Premium is active. RevenueCat processes purchase and subscription information, an app user identifier that it generates automatically, and technical information needed to provide this service. We use purchase information for subscription reporting. The app does not give RevenueCat your name, email address, records or Health data. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
App usage analytics
The app uses TelemetryDeck to understand which features are used, so we can decide what to improve. Events include opening the app, onboarding steps, starting or ending an attack record, adding a past attack, logging or adding a medication, adding a custom trigger or symptom, saving a MIDAS assessment, generating a PDF report, opening the Premium screen and purchase steps. Event details are limited to categories, such as which screen opened the Premium page or the product chosen, and yes/no flags, such as whether notes were filled in.
Events never contain your pain levels, symptoms, triggers, medication names or doses, notes or Health values. Each event includes the time it was sent. TelemetryDeck also receives basic app and device information, such as app version, operating system version, device model, language, region and time-zone settings and some accessibility display settings, with an identifier that is hashed so it cannot be traced back to you. According to TelemetryDeck, IP addresses are not stored and data is processed in the European Union. See TelemetryDeck’s Privacy FAQ and Privacy Policy.
Crash and error reports
The iPhone app uses Sentry to receive crash and error reports so we can find and fix problems. A report contains technical information such as device model, operating system and app version, a stack trace, app state, recent technical steps (for example, which screen was open, which operation failed and how long it took) and storage diagnostics such as database file sizes. Sentry also receives app session starts and ends, used to measure how often the app crashes, and performance diagnostics such as app freezes. The app is configured not to send personal information by default. Reports do not include the contents of your records or your Health data and are not linked to your name or email address. Reports are sent to Sentry’s EU data region. See the Sentry Privacy Policy.
Reports and exports you share
PDF reports and CSV or JSON exports are created on your device only when you ask for them. You choose where to save or send them, for example to a clinician. Once you share a file, the recipient and the service you use handle it under their own practices.
What we do not do
We do not show ads, do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, do not use advertising identifiers and do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use your records or Health data to train AI models.
Retention and deletion
Your records stay on your device until you delete them. You can delete individual attacks, medications, medication logs, custom triggers and symptoms, and MIDAS assessments in the app. Deleting Migraine Tracker from your iPhone and Apple Watch removes the records and settings it stored on those devices. It does not remove Headache entries already saved to Apple Health, files you exported, or copies in device backups; manage those in the Health app, where you saved the files and in your backup settings.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; see the Terms of Use. RevenueCat keeps purchase records needed to manage subscriptions and restore purchases. TelemetryDeck and Sentry keep their records for limited periods under their own policies. Because these records are not linked to your name, we may not be able to find records belonging to you, but you can contact us and we will help where we can.
Service providers and transfers
The providers named above process information on our behalf only for the purposes described in this policy, under their own privacy and data-protection terms. We choose providers whose commitments protect your information to at least the standard described here. Some may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area; their policies describe their locations and safeguards. Information may also be disclosed if required by law. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, but we limit what leaves your device to the information described above.
Your choices and rights
You can withdraw Apple Health, location and notification permissions at any time in your device settings. Withdrawing permission does not affect information collected before. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Contact info@linasdev.io to make a request. Your records are held only on your device, so you can view, export and delete them directly in the app.
Children’s privacy
Migraine Tracker is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact us and we will delete it.
This website
This website provides product information and public sample files. It has no account sign-in, health-entry form or facility for uploading your migraine records. The sample screenshots and report contain fictional data. Fonts and product images are served with the website.
The hosting service receives connection information needed to deliver pages, such as an IP address and browser request information. Hosting access logs are separate from information recorded in the Migraine Tracker app.
Website analytics
We use Umami Cloud to understand which pages people visit, how they find this website, and which links they use to open the App Store or our sample PDF. These reports help us improve the website.
The measurements include page paths, campaign labels when present, referring websites, browser and device information, language and approximate location. Link events include the page and the position of the link, such as the header or main download button. We remove other URL query parameters and fragments before sending page addresses, and send only the origin of an external referring website.
Umami’s tracking script does not use cookies. Its service processes connection information to produce visitor statistics and approximate location; according to Umami’s documentation, IP addresses are not stored. This website respects the browser’s Do Not Track setting. We do not send migraine records or Apple Health data to website analytics, and we do not enable session recordings or advertising pixels. Read Umami’s privacy policy for information about the provider.
External links and email
Links to the App Store, the developer’s website and educational sources take you to other services with their own privacy practices.
If you contact support by email, we receive your email address and the information you include, and use it only to respond. Please send only the information needed to describe your question; a technical support request does not require your medical history. We keep support emails only as long as needed to resolve your request, and you can ask us to delete them.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app, the website or the services they use change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. If a change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as required by law. For privacy questions, contact Linas Nutautas at info@linasdev.io.
